Bicarbi may be reimbursed under an insurance benefit for Over The Counter or OTC
products, by the following plan types
:
  • Commercial Insurance
  • Medicare Advantage
  • Medicaid

Commercial Insurance

Commercial Insurance is typically insurance from your employer or from an exchange under the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care).

Commercial Insurance may offer coverage of Bicarbi as a supplemental benefit for OTCs under either your pharmacy benefit or your medical benefit.

To determine if your Commercial Insurance policy provides coverage for OTCs, you will have to review your policy or contact your insurance provider to determine if there is an OTC coverage option under your medical or pharmacy benefit.

Medicare Advantage

Some Medicare Advantage plans may offer reimbursement coverage of OTCs under two different benefits:
  • A benefit called a Supplemental Benefit
  • A benefit called a Primary Health Related Supplemental Benefit
To determine if you have reimbursement coverage under either of these benefits you will have to review your policy or contact your Insurance Provider to determine if there is an OTC coverage option under the medical benefit of your Medicare Advantage Plan.

Both of these Medicare Advantage benefits are under the Medical benefit of the plan not the Pharmacy benefit.

Medicaid

Some Medicaid plans may offer reimbursement coverage of OTCs under two different benefits:
  • A benefit for OTCs under your medical benefit.
  • A benefit for OTCs under your pharmacy benefit.
To determine if you have reimbursement coverage under either of these benefits you will have to review your policy or contact your Insurance Provider to determine if there is an OTC coverage option under the medical benefit or the pharmacy benefit of you Medicaid plan.
